Hi, Has anyone here bought one of the 40x2 LCDs that BGMicro are selling under the code LCD1025? The module consists of a Tianma TM402CDBW6-1 40x2 LCD (with KS0066 controller) and a board that sits - piggyback style - behind the LCD. The piggyback board has five switches (D-pad and E) fitted, as well as a bunch of 74HC240, 74HC595 and 74HC165 ICs. There are also six rectangular LEDs (five green, one red) fitted to said board - to the right of the LCD. So far, I've got the switch and LED panel pinning worked out, but I haven't been able to find out what pins need twiddling to send data into the LCD. I know the 74HC240 has something to do with the LCD (most of the lines to the HC595 pair that runs the LCD seem to go through it), but I'll be damned if I can find out what does what. Of course, the quick way would be to pull the LCD off and scrap the piggyback board, but where's the fun in that, especially when the module could be useful for other things? Just FYI, it seems these boards have come out of a DSR-4400 Digicipher receiver - the piggyback board bears the label "DSR-4400 FRONT REV B 96.4.26" and the datecode "APR 06 2001".
