ANY scope is infinitely better than no scope at all. A 10 MHz, single-trace scope is pretty limited, sure; but I've found that most of the times when I've reached for my scope probe, what I was after was just to see "what the heck is going on" in a circuit- and for that, my old 20 MHz B&K is more than adequate.
