If you're thinking about a PIC on each end then how about an IR link to get rid of the wires? I guess it would have to be a pretty bright sender or very focused to reach that distance? -----Original Message----- From: Jim Tellier Sent: Oct 30, 2003 8:14 PM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [PIC:] Controlling a remote LCD fixing TAG.. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Tellier" To: Sent: Thursday, October 30, 2003 4:57 PM Subject: Re: Controlling a remote LCD > Edward Cooper wrote: > > I'm after some ideas for controlling a remote LCD, just a standard 4 > > digit lcd (88.88), I want to be able to display values about 10m away > > from the main device (16f877 running a load of stuff) I've got I2C > > working as I use it to write too a few EEPROMS but I'm not sure its a > > great idea to chain a LCD on 10m of cable onto this bus, as I need the > > I2C bus to be reliable and fairly fast. > > > > Any suggestions?
