TTYL You obviously haven't been badly burnt (as I have) by processors which run apparently perfectly during testing but which cause intermittent problems in customers equipment (which happens to be located about 15,000 km away) entirely because the processor (non-Microchip in my case) fails to meet its guaranteed specifications. Once a manufacturer fails to honour their guaranteed specification and decides to hide the fact from you, there can be no guarantee that "normal" testing will reveal the problem. While anyone with even a trace of prudence will perform extensive tests, it is unreasonable to suggest that these should be required to catch manufacturers' gross failures to perform.
