Hi, Under Project>Build options>Project, on the Hi-Tech18 Linker tab, although Intel HEX format is selected, sometimes on the text box under "Inherit global settings" or "Use alternate settings", the file extension is cof. Now I have selected "Use alternate settings" and I have <<-O"$(TARGETBASE).hex">> written there. Do you mean on the HI-TECH LINKER tab under MPLAB's PROJECT => BUILD OPTIONS? The Intel Hex option button was always selected. I only see option buttons for Intel Hex, Binary Image, and Motorola S1/S9 Hex -- I don't see any option button for .COF that could have been selected by mistake. Do you mean just selecting anything else and then selecting the Intel Hex option button again to reset things? I'm sure I'm misunderstanding your advice. Could you elaborate on your "Sometimes it changes back to .cof" statement and on resetting the output file?
