My current project use a 12F629, and using relocatable code is realy nice.
No need to care about any addreses, either program or data, well the
h'04' ISR entry point maybe...

What difficulties ?

I just did the following :

- Created a new empty directory
- Copied the same two files as you.
- Fired up MPLAB (6.30)
- Created a new project with the new directory as "working dir"
- Entered the two files as "source" and "linker script".
- Commented two lines and change another in the link script
  as specified in the ASM file.
- Selected the right device in "confiure->select device".
- Clicked on the "make" button.

And it built cleanly.

But without the changes to the link script, I got the same error as you.
