Sorry about this. I'm laying out a fairly tight board, containing through hole and surface mount parts. Because there are two quad flat packs on the board, there are a fair number of vias and traces running on the back. This is a two sided board. If I put in a ground plane polygon, there really isn't a whole lot of space for it to go. It fills in nicely around the outside edges of the board, but in the center, directly under the two main chips, it can't really fill in due to isolation distances. Is it worth having the plane if it is just a surround? It does go in slighly in some areas, but the center parts are just too dense. Thanks, Josh -- A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. -Douglas Adams -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
