Not having had experience of or use for 4-20mA loops before I've
been looking around to find out a bit about them, as one is needed
in a current (pun intended just for a change) project

Is there any real world advice or suggestions that anyone can add,
particularly re i/f to a PIC ?

The application has to be solid and reliable. Price is a consideration
of course but not to the detriment of performance
