Are you 100% certain of this? As far as stored charge --goes, the diode in series with the pic pin should avert problems there. I just talked to the main performer and they said this happens sometimes even when the circuit is turned on for the _first_ time. --What sort of reset circuit do you have on the PIC's /MCLR pin? It sounds --possible that your circuits do not get a reliable startup reset. I'm pretty sure that I used a pull-up resistor to tie /MCLR to 5V. I'm only lighting one LED at a time ...but it's possible that while one is being lit, a few other capacitors are discharging for the fading effect. It's possible that when the circuit is switched off (we're just using a simple slide swicth) a few of the capacitors still have charge in them. I'm just using a 9V battery for the power. I don't have any other capacitors in the circuit (i.e. no decoupling caps for the 7805 or my pic) I'm really puzzled.
