I certainly hope it's only because you are taking time to carefully compose a message detailing all the reasons why BASIC in any shape is bad :-) Really, so many good things can be done quickly and easily in Perl, and it is way more popular than Python. Python might have had a chance to catch on if it hadn't been for the use of indents rather than brackets. As it stands, it is doomed to always be a niche language like FORTH.
