Ok, that's what I was looking for:

You are measuring ambient room temperature every minute -- that was not
stated in the previous messages.
Now it is easy for us to see why you do not like the data you are getting.

Tim, have you studied the electrical and timing interface specifications of
the data sheet carefully?
Make sure you are not violating any of these specifications. It would not
hurt to re-review pages 21 onward of the data sheet.

What is the crystal frequency on this "basic stamp" type of module?
