I refill inkjet cartridges for an HP G85 printer*. The savings (in exchange for my labour) are very substantial- between 5:1 and 10:1+ depending on ink source. The single fill Calidad brand refills available here work extremely well. Given that success I bought bulk refill ink from a local refiller and it has given me lots of ongoing trouble. The ink seems to be too viscous than the original or Calidad ink and flow rate can't keep up with large high saturation colour areas. (Thinning substantially doesn't seem to help). Does anyone buy bulk refill ink for HP printers that they are outrageously happy with and can recommend a brand and/or supplier? Brand and source would be good. It must be for HP printers as the characteristics do vary between brands and even between models. * as this sort of topic always seems to attract peripheral questions. I perceive ink cartridge refilling as entirely ethical. It's legal and a battle between you and the printer supplier to see who wins. HP are good enough at the game that I will almost certainly never buy another HP printer and recommend the same to people who are interested in refilling. FWIW the colour fastness with time of HP and refill inks is not marvellous and I will be looking in due course at Epson's claims for ultra long colour fastness. Canon's ink tanks are worth considering. Std disclaimer - I have no shares etc in any of these companies - I'm just another unhappy HP customer.
