Looking at detecting where something is hitting onto a target and could be
with quite a bit of force (think of a baseball being thrown at a target).
I'm thinking that Piezo sensors could be used in a quadrant type setup, such
that the PIC would detect the voltage from each sensor (how big/small can
these be) and determine where it hits.
