sorry, what is a "freewheeling diode"?   I've not heard the term before.  Do
you mean "reverse biased", ? I can't fathom why you'd put a forward-biased
(i.e. conducting) diode across the C/E junction, ;but (excuse my lack of
analog expertise) don't understand why you would need a reverse-biased diode
either.  could you explain what you're tring to do?
