>I need advice regarding a Serial DAC, either 10 or 12 bits. >I would prefer an Analog Devices package. I have used the Analog Devices AD5326 which is a 12 bit I2C interface DAC. There are 4 in a package, with each having a separate reference input. Also has a pin that you can pulse to make all DACs update at the same time if this is critical. Very nice device. They also have 8 and 10 bit versions that are pin compatible. There are two address lines on the package so you can have up to 16 DAC channels made from these in a system. Only problem is that it is available only in a surface mount package. Also available as an SPI interface (AD5226 IIRC). >There are so many different ones availavle I am totally >confused of which one to get. Yeah I know that feeling. You have to start by determining which parameters are the important ones, such as package, speed and number of bits, then factor in price. >If you have used a Serial DAC in a project and it worked well >please send me the part number. I plan to use a PIC to drive it. Well these worked very nicely for me using a PIC to drive them. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
