Trick for storing bulk SMD parts:

Place parts on a sheet of paper and tape them down using transparent tape.
To remove a part use a knife and tweezers to go under the cut open tape.
Use antistatic tape, and harder cardboard for storing items that can break
by bending (SOIC, SSOP).
