You mean something like: We trickled through inefficiency from series
dropping resistor, to switchers being more efficient / needing a LARGE
inductor / not if you use them in pulsed /discontinuous mode/ good idea!/
aside on resonant converters / only need a few uA average / telco allows 10
uA leakage /that should be enough / Ok.
