They don't. They say it's a "RS-232 serial port DB-9 Female", witch is correct. Thay don't say anything about the electrical interface. Again, just as I said in an earlier post. > Funny, I can't seem to locate any > level convertors on the board or in the schematic for it. Is that > perfectly valid as well? Well, you have to add *something* by our own, right ? At least if you'd like to have a "real" RS232 interface. http://www.basicx.com/Products/Parts/bx24devboard2.gif Calles it "RS-232 serial port DB-9 Female", or, in other words, specifing the *physical* connector. I'v seen that connector beeing used for many different things, not only RS232 interfaces. http://www.basicx.com/Products/Parts/bx24devboardsch.gif Says nothing about the electrical specifications of the "serial" interface at all. Well, there is something that *looks* as an "RS-232 serial port DB-9 Female", if that's what you thought about. I think they have carefully avoided to say that they actualy *has* an "RS232 interface", which they hasn't, I *do* agree on that ! I also do agree that it's a bad design...
