I just finished as a CE last year, and the reason I chose CE over EE was simple: I didn't want to take the analog control systems class. That's it. It also would have gotten me out of the power systems I class, but they only added the CE option after I had taken power systems. I still had to take all the electronics classes. And (not to offend anyone) I found most of the CS courses that I took for programming to be too... simple. I learned far more in my EE classes. And, in fact, I'm now in a job position which was described for a EE and I'm doing fine. I guess the lesson is, do whichever you want, but make sure the one you pick doesn't make you take any classes that you don't want. Perhaps the best piece of advice I can give you is this: talk to your advisor a lot! I didn't. That was dumb.
