Try Torex.  I use them in all my products.  I am currently paying $0.25
each in 2500 piece quantity.

I believe the Microchip parts are actually relabled Torex.  When I did
get a reel of voltage detectors in from Microchip, I noticed the box the
reel came in had all the torex numbers on it.  The reel itself also had
Torex part numbers.  However, the parts cost twice as much as Torex.

I do not recollect the web address off the top of my head, but I believe
a quick Google search should turn it up.

Another viable low current alternative is the Seiko linear regulators.
