Microchip offers a regulator which could be used as a power supply turn off device. http://www.microchip.com/1010/pline/analog/anicateg/power/linereg/tc1xxx/tc1017/ Some nice specs. SC70 package (half the size of a SOT-23) makes it awkward for one off use ;-). The sad part is that it has NONE voltage output variants from 1.8 to 4 volts BUT no 5 volt version AND input is 6 volts maximum. Apart from those limitations the 0.5 UA max Iin in shutdown (0.006 uA typical) and 285 mV max voltage drop at 150 mA (full load) make it a worthy competitor to the LM2936. Anyone know of a device with: Good Vin max Good Iin max Low drop out Shutdown with sub microamp drain. Good range of output voltages (or programmable) Good price. Useful packaging. ?
