Bob- Remember the days of Heathkit? Some of their transmitters (DX60 for sure, and I think a few others kits such as their high voltage power supplies for transceivers) came with a fused power plug. It used 3AG fuses in each side of the line held in with a clip arrangement. You could push out the fuse with a stiff wire through a small hole so you didn't need to disassemble the plug to change a fuse. That's the only place I recall seeing that configuration, and I don't recall seeing the fused plugs Heath used in catalogs either. Jack The UK scheme of placing an appropriately sized fuse in the plug seems like a great idea to me. btw: there is one exception to the lack of such protection in the US. Holiday light strings must have a fuse in the plug. Bob Ammerman RAm Systems --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
