Well, I've gotten confused enough about the circuit now that I'll only give what I'm certain about. And that's not much ;) (added to the fact that I haven't worked on this since I posted the message, it's not a pretty sight) U203 feeds the LCD data lines U202 controls the contrast of the display through a resistor network. (pins 2-6) U202-15 connects to RS U202-9 connects to E U203's Q'H feeds U202's Serial in U205 confuses me due to a few pins that look N.C. to me even though they're inputs, but it's for reading the swithces. U204 is for turning on LEDs. counting the blue wire as pin 1 on J2, the purpose of each line is as follows: 1:? 2:serial out 3:? 4:? 5:serial in 6:Vcc 7:Gnd 8:Vo (contrast control) I found connections on U201 looping back to U201, along with lines on U201 being connected to both the register clock and the serial clock so I'm a little confused about that one, which is why I haven't succeeded in finishing the process. (that and I got distracted). --Brendan -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you. See http://www.piclist.com/#topics
