Hi all,

The following has been bothering me. It was a problem that was supposed
to be a brain teaser for year 7 (12 year old) students.

Can anyone work it out?

If :
    1  (#)  4   =   5
    2  (#)  2   =   6
    3  (#)  6   =   1
then,
    4  (#)  4   =   ?
