-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 source= http://www.piclist.com/piclist/2003/09/11/040237a.txt? I have upgraded from MPLAB 5.31.0 to MPLAB IDE v6.20 I have found a file MCHIP_Tools\TEMPLATE\Object\f874atempo.asm in the new environment. This file addresses almost all of the concerns that I have raised. The file MCHIP_Tools\TEMPLATE\Object\f874tempo.asm is essentially the same as the one I find deficient. Clearly, this issue does not resonate with the list members, and the deficient documentation is associated with a chip that is superceded and the very recommendations I formulated are already in place. I am willing to respond to posts, but I withdraw from 'pushing' the discussion. Thanks for all the comments. - -------- Jan-Erik wrote Hi. Just a minor observation... I'm do consider myself as a PIC-beginner (aprox 1 year now). Now, whenever there is something that I do not understand in the documentation, my first thought is *not* the it's the documentation that is serously brooken... To fully understand this issue, I'd realy like to know what is the "example code" you are refering to ! (You talk about the linker (lkr) files, but they aren't realy "examples" or "templates", are they ? I see them as a actual *specifications* of the memory map of the actual PIC model and not something I have to bother much about, in most cases at least, and probably not in my first PIC project anyway...)
