That's what I assumed. I also assumed that it would be impractical to fit a paper end sensor 1killometer from the printer as with offset you need to run anything up to 200 copies just to adjust the density / color If you have the roll weight and the grams/sq meter you could work out the length The press surely has a drum counter, if not fit one. Now work out how much you've used/have left Use a pic, enter the roll length, then using a input from the drum counter display the remaining paper length Peter Cousens cousens@biscit.biz > -----Original Message----- > From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU] On > Behalf Of Tal > Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2003 7:06 PM > To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU > Subject: Re: [PIC]: Length measurement > > Hi Peter and other, > > When I say printer + reel I thought you going to guess that I am talking > about giant printer not a DeskJet :-) > we are talking about 100" (2.6m) that fed with vynil, paper. etc.. > there is no mechanism to find how much material left so I must build it. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
