what about a simple summing circuit......volume controls to attenuate each
of the inputs?  That way you can select any of the sources levels prior to
feeding into the speakers.

HOWEVER......probably will kill your frequency response of the stereo

Maybe have a blinky light on the dash if the speaker turns on?  Might be
easier....
