I just think it's interesting to compare the culture, attitudes, and successes of NASA during the Apollo program and the early years of space flight with the last few years (since Challenger, at least). "That guy should be at NASA" has gone from an expression of genius to an expression of...I don't know what, but certainly less quality. The kind of guy that could mix up pounds and kilos or feet and meters and crash a probe into Mars.
