EVERY engineer has to convert schematics to some form that everybody else can read. PDFs are now the defacto standard, but Adobe is so paranoid about having their software stolen- and its expensive to start with-, that Adobe now makes EVERY upgrade a "call in to get the password" deal, and I change HD's too often to keep going through that. So I was surprised to find an inexpensive PDF generator that actually works called WIN2PDF. (Alien doesn't work right occasionally). It's for Win2k/XP only, yet after a week of testing, I can only say that it works VERY well. It will allow you to SPLICE into another PDF page(s), either before it, after it, or even replace it. So, you can build up those TOMES our clients all like so much. It does some things even Adobe can't do, i.e. in OrCAD, Adobe wouldn't generate just ONE PDF page; it insisted on generating all pages, or no pages. WIN2PDF installs as a virtual printer driver. You have control over resolution, 120DPI to 600DPI (or more). All sheet sizes, including all standard European sizes. It compresses as well, according to Acrobat 2 specs. It's at www.daneprairie.com . Free demo with NAG page. I now own a copy of v2.1. Its everything I need. --Bob -------------- Bob Axtell PIC Hardware & Firmware Dev Tucson, AZ 1-520-219-2363 "I lose some on each sale but make it up in volume." -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
