I'm helping out with the laundry whose pace is determined solely by the relatively slow drying dryer. The problem is that the dryer isn't sophisticated enough to have a end of cycle buzzer to keep the flow moving. The title of this tread popped into my head as I was transferring clothes. The task seems quite simple: detect the huge amount of current the electric dryer sucks down during the cycle, and buzz a buzzer when it's done. It's 220V 60Hz 50A 2 phase standard setup for the US. Both inline and induction type systems are feasible though I'm a touch leery at splitting the dryer line. But it would be easy to "circle the wagons" inside of an electrical box. Any ideas?
