Damn John, Didn't realize you were going to do a homework assignment on this :). I use Futaba on all of my planes so am not sure exactly how the others work in that area. Guess I should have prefaced my comment with that the 3PDF and M8 are ground radios in the 75mhz zone. Nice to see thou that what is true in 75 also seems to be true in all areas. Do you happen to know were to find the com specs on the Futaba equipment? I tried contacting them a few years ago and they basically told me that they didn't give it to anyone. But now their is a Novak receiver that works off the crystals and a few settings that will work with both the Futaba and the AirTronics (I think, I know that it works with another company besides Futaba but don't have the $150 to try it :) ) equipment. Right now I'm working on building a mixer for my flying wing out of an AVR chip using BasCom but it would be nice to build a full receiver that simply has the functionalities built into it that you would commonly use in the area of planes. Another for cars and finally one for my boats. I wouldn't mind building a few radios for my robotics projects that would use my 3PDF, Attakr-4 and other radios but tying into a receiver just looks too kludge when you go to show it off to your friends :).
