Russell, You will need a vanilla version of Int English full version of XP -. However, you may find that some parts of the HP won't work properly or you may have to go to HP's site and download the German drivers for it. This is because HP/Compaq, IBM etc, add extras into all their OEM versions of MS operating systems and some of the hardware may expect (BIOS included) to find these utilities on the harddrive. Especially if the OEM version of XP did not require activation. I've been out of the OEM computer market for two years now, but I know Compaq for example always had a hidden sector/partition on the hardive that contained all the technicians recovery tools wipe that or use a non standard version of Windows and the system would play up on some models. IBM of course have their new security feature. The keyboard is not a problem as you can alter that in XP once you've got a 102 keyboard connected. However as already suggested in Control Panel under Regional and Language settings you may succeed in what you need just by changing this from German to your brand of English. Remember that HP may not support you in NZ (HP Aus certainly won't support without an argument other countries versions) and of course if they do they will require it to have the original Master Restore CD installed.
