Hi Augusto
Go with Ken's suggestion of the Agilent modules ( HFBR14X2 and HFBR24X2), I
use them at work all the time as I design fibre optic links and They are the
easiest thing in the world just follow the design advice on the datasheet.
the 24X2 is an open collector receiver so you can just interface it with the
voltage that you require, just watch the  max current.
Any problems just let me know.

What kind of source need to use to communicate two pics using a 20 mts.
optic fiber cable ?

Options that I have on hand to make the test:

1) A Bright LED with a photo transistor
2) IR emmisor LED and a IR Receiver

Ideas are welcome,

PD: Copper wires are not a good way because there are a High Power RF source
very near ( 1 meter )
