You should include enough the message you are replying to so that people
can get the context of the reply.  The rest of have better things to do
than remember the context of PIClist threads about other people's little
problems.

Now please don't go overboard either.  Don't be so lazy as to include the
entire original post, trailer and all, like some people do.  The worst are
those that just plunk their message at the top so you have to scroll down
first to see what it's about, then scroll back to read the reply (guess
which messages get skipped first when time is tight).  It's very easy to
strip the fluff and insert your replies after the points being replied to,
but it stops saying "Up yours, I'm so much more important that all you
that I can't be bother spending the extra 2 seconds to make my message
more readable" to 2000 people.
