Except it does not. There are a number of messages arriving in my "untagged"
mailbox where the subject line starts "Re: ]" so there is a mailer program
out in the ether (probably OE and Outlook) which strips everything before
the colon before inserting the "Re:" without any regard for the positioning
of square brackets.
