Why do you think anyone does that ?

I don't think anyone "muck" with them, this problem
came when people begun to put the ":" *inside*
of the "[]" (as in this thread).

Sometims the mail client just removes part of the tag,
and if if you don't see that , and fix it, the post will
be sent with a "mucked" tag...

My thought is that the *some* mail client *sometimes* confuses
the [EE:] tag with a "RE:" tag, and removes the "[EE:" part so
there will not be double "RE:" tags. Thats why there is a
single "]" left sometimes.

I think that if we always put the ":" *after* the "[]", we
would not have this "problem".
