I have managed to get the FT245BM working in our application, but am having power troubles.

The chip is self powered, and when the USB cable is not plugged into the board uses ~20mA, is there any way of making the device to go into a low power state?

If the USB cable is plugged in slightly (just enough for the power pins to connect) then the device goes into a low power state.

If the USB cable is plugged completely in then the device uses ~20mA again. I guess this is because the PC is polling the device? Is there any way of stopping this?
