Just checked a VFD (2*20 char, Noritake CU20025ECPB-U1J)
I got from Steven Kosmerchock here on the list. The data
sheet says 130mA @ 5V typical with *twice* that on power on.

Your is 355mA typical with *10* times that on power on ??

Maybe it was much larger then 2*20 chars...
