If you believed the software was "Buggy" why not send and email to tech@newfoundelectronics.com and report your suspicions for the benefit of all?. Of course before you do that, you could check out the web site as you might find information that addresses the matter. Like here: http://www.newfoundelectronics.com/pics.htm#Bad%20Config%20word You may find the "bug" is elsewhere unless you expect a 3rd party to "police" your use of the config directive. >I also tried the Picstart but it works only with actual USB ports and >does not work with port above COM4 (the USB to serial I am using >presents itself as COM6). > >Any recommendation for a programmer and/or USB to Serial adapter will be >greatly appreciated. There are some comments on USB and the WARP-13 and other USB programmers on the first draft of the new WARP-13 FAQ. http://www.newfoundelectronics.com/warp-13%20faq.htm As I say in the FAQ it is not very helpful. There is not a lot of quality on offer at this time. However something is better than nothing and you may want to try the DIY USB programmers or Peter Andersons USB convertor that I hear works.
