Seems the system will hide the big four extensions (pulling
out fingers: exe, com, bat, pif, shs) okay five extensions
regardless of the "hide" setting.  But, there is still
a workaround. It called the command line (gasp!).  You
can see the real extension and you can rename it
successfully.   I do this to mine, then back in the
GUI I give them a ".virus" extension before moving
them off to my collection.


Dead giveaway on some ext's like pif: the icon is "wrong".
