Hi Stephen, Another option, as I'm sure you are quite well aware, is to write your own bootloader if you have the time and desire. At least you have *total* control over its features and can make it as robust as you want, but it does take a good amount of effort and testing to roll your own. Even more so if you write a specialized GUI that allows a PC to download a HEX file (application) to the bootloader. With a bootloader there's many ways to skin a cat, that's for sure! You might want to also check out www.microchipc.com. (That's not a typo). Shane has some bootloaders on his site -- not sure if they support the PIC you want. Worth a look.
