This transistor may require 10 or more volts on the b/e junction to make it operate. I suggest you construct a small test circuit using say 12v via a resistor to turn the transistor on. :-) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard" To: Sent: Tuesday, August 19, 2003 3:26 AM Subject: [EE] Is this transistor faulty? I have a transistor(QM30HC-2H) which I suspect that it is faulty. The datasheet of the transistor is http://www.capacitor.net.cn/pdffiles/QM30HC-2H.pdf . I tried measuring it using an multimeter across collector - emitter, base - emitter & emitter -collector and found they are all open circuit. However I've tried measuring smaller NPN transistor such as 2N2222 or TIP150 using the same methods I can find out whether the transistor is working or dead. So is the method applicable for testing this QM30HC-2H? Any recommendation on subsituting this transistor as I think it might be difficult for me to get one which is exactly the same in S'pore?(Such as parallel as few high powered NPNs?)
