You are wasting MIT bandwidth also :-) Sorry Mike, as an Admin I felt it was necessary to point out to others that your behaviour is not appropriate, so that they do not replicate it, the last time I did it through private mail resulted in no change. For the record we usually keep everything to private mail, but you took the first step to making it public. > A REASON to me: > PICList I a trusted source, izx@xizx.net and similar are not. > I needn't off-list pen-palling, except for admins' posts. Then ignore the offlist post. > This guy got my address from PICList, so, I think, I have > right to ask him to stop private posts using PICList bandwidth. You do, but not using the PICLIST to do it, you message was meant for ONE person, the person who posted to you privately, to the other 1998 members of the list you message was COMPLETELY USELESS, and therefore a waste of bandwidth. Remember, not everyone here has "cheap" internet access, every KB counts. > Anyway 4k post is not a big deal, I hope, compared to few > 50K jpgs of a transistor flashing LED in different variants, > for example. Or compared to reposting the same message in > multiple variants with/without proper tag, with/without tag > at all, with/without colons, with colons inside or outside > brackets, with/without proper brackets, with/without space > between tag and subject text etc. You are not an admin, it is not your job to decide what is pointless and what isn't. I have other things to say but they are not appropriate in a public forum. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
