It does help to actually READ the directions.  You got closer this time
since this is the first post from you I've seen.  However, this should have
been tagged [EE]:, not [PIC]:.

Why?  Do you have a circuit that specifies ST72A, or trying to replace a
busted one in an undocumented circuit?  Why can't you get a ST72A?  Did you
try getting the specs from the ST web site, then look around at IR,
Fairchild, and other suspects to see what they have that would do about the
same thing?
