It didn't work when I tried it, but I'll definately bookmark it for the future. I'll bet it's a bit biased though :) I looked up the data sheet for the lm2588 and it's typical circuit seems to suggest it needs a transformer for the output? That's pushing the circuit a little bit bigger than I was hoping for. I definately don't have one of those in my drawer.
