I think that Tux wins because of the open source thing. Any bugs that need to be leveled can be leveled, since all one has to do is peek at the source, patch it, and recompile. With Bill's version you are at the mercy of far away support. The complexity issue is also a factor, but in general the things done with embedded Linux tend to be far more complex and feature rich than things done with the other. F.ex. show me a router/firewall you can buy running on embedded W* that fits in a small box and costs less than $150. There are more of those running Linux than I can count.
