But the PICs are spread over an area of maybe 100 x 100 meters, with a ~
500 m network connecting them all! I'm not gona do that with parallel
wires, shift registers or dallas one-wire (and the customer wants CAN -
looks nice on the sales flyer). So there will be a PIC at each node
anyway, then why not use for what it is good at?
