If in the US/UK, try ebuyer.com --- very reasonable, free ground shipping (at least in the US) at the moment, have lots of brands down to 16 MB. > I am aware of the 3.3V requirement, I am hoping there's some 3.3V 3-pin > regulator that adequate to drop 5V to 3.3V. I have found TI's LDO UCC283-3-T to be ideal. I ran my setup w/o a heatsink on the regulator, was fine (TO220). Used a SN74LVC244 5V-tolerant buffer for the interface. I wasted a lot of time trying to get a SD card to work --- if you try, let us know how it goes. A very good (i.e, textbook) example of SPI comms with a MMC card (8051 assembly) is at http://www.idcomm.com/personal/lorenblaney/mmc.html .
