If in the US/UK, try ebuyer.com --- very reasonable, free ground shipping
(at least in the US) at the moment, have lots of brands down to 16 MB.

I have found TI's LDO UCC283-3-T to be ideal. I ran my setup w/o a heatsink
on the regulator, was fine (TO220). Used a SN74LVC244 5V-tolerant buffer for
the interface.

I wasted a lot of time trying to get a SD card to work --- if you try, let
us know how it goes. A very good (i.e, textbook) example of SPI comms with a
