-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 source= http://www.piclist.com/piclist/2003/08/11/141017a.txt I have yet another programmer firmware that programs the original parts. I have not read the -A suffix part datasheet, and do not have a -A suffix part. I believe there are differences in the programming algorithm. I did request a '877A sample yesterday, and did download the datasheet yesterday. The good news is that I will share the source, it works, and was crafted to be portable, especially w.r.t the PIC so that I could do this very thing. The bad news is that it is written in a language that I prefer to C, that it is certified to run on the Motorola 68HC11EVB. If there are civilized responses, I'll put the source on the web. My board design that I have instantiated from Olimex does have LVICSD support built in for itself, and is designed to use itself to program a board downstream. The board is verified to work with my homebrew programmer. news://sci.electronics.design has a fair amount of history on this, Google for me and RS232, the board is on the net. My question is: what connector (digikey or mouser part no) does the community prefer that I put on my Rev 2 board, due to go when Olimex finishes vacation? The board/connector will not use the +13V programming algorithm, only the low voltage algorithm. If an existing programmer, such as the Olimex device, will work with my board and the recommended connector I will incorporate the new part, but I am only using gnd, +5, pgm, reset, clock, data fed through 330 ohm protection. I'm not inspired to analyze other circuits, but would respond to any verification from other folks that this works.
