A few months ago, there was a short discussion about other methods of keyboard scanning, I've gone back and re-read the material from the previous posts, but I am not sure I follow exactly how to do it - including proper coding and wiring - now, the way I am doing this is having 1 pic handle all keypad entry, and another query the first on a regular basis for key info. The keyboard pic is a 16F876 w/ 28pins. I am using 26 keys - I could have just enough to handle the configuration, but I would like breathing room to make this work incase I need to add buttons in the future. If someone could explain a low pin keyboard scan method to me in a clearer manner, I would greatly appreciate it - including proper wiring, as long as I can figure out C code implementation, I should be ok - which basically means I really need to understand how it works. People who talked about it before on the list included: Carey Fisher and James Newton Any help would be most appreciated!! -Tony -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
